Review rubric

How we review

Every soda is scored from 1 to 5 across eight dimensions. The rubric keeps reviews consistent while leaving room for the personality of each drink. If you disagree with any of the scoring, I'm down to fight. I also take bribes.

Methodology

One reviewer, eight scores

Each soda is reviewed across the same eight dimensions. The displayed overall rating is the average score of those eight dimensions.

Tasting notes are editorial opinions. Product facts such as caffeine and naming come from package labels, product photography, or manufacturer references when available.

Score scale

1"Nah this ain't it"
3"Yeah I'd drink this"
5"Hell yeah this is awsome"

The dimensions

01

Crisp

How sharp, clean, and immediately refreshing the soda feels from the first sip.

02

Carbonation

The liveliness and texture of the fizz, plus how well the bubbles support the drink.

03

Sweetness balance

Whether the sweetness feels measured and integrated rather than flat or overpowering.

04

Aftertaste

What remains after the sip: a clean, pleasant finish or a flavor that lingers awkwardly.

05

Distinctiveness

How memorable and recognizable the flavor is compared with other zero-sugar sodas.

06

Can vibes

The packaging's shelf appeal, visual personality, and general fridge-door presence.

07

Repeatability

How likely we are to reach for another can and keep the soda in regular rotation.

08

Flavor balance

How well the individual flavor notes work together without one crowding out the rest.
